About Us

We welcomed our first Labrador Retriever Sandpiper Kelly at River Road in 1996. At that time we were farming in our home town of Bernardston, Massachusetts, a small town in Western MA. Kelly was a beautiful and fun loving dog who gave our family much enjoyment for many years.

Kelly’s daughter, Peila’s Miss Molly was our first mating at Ocean Spray. We bred Molly to Ocean Spray Rembrandt and then to Ocean Spray Sea Cruz keeping a puppy from each litter. Those two puppies turned out to be exceptional bitches and produced several litters of stunning puppies. Those two girls were the start of our “Ocean Spray lines”.
We moved our children, cows and dogs to Lancaster, PA in 2006 after the family farm was sold. All the while still breeding with Ocean Spray. Although we did love our time in PA we also wanted to get back closer to our “Roots”. In 2013, we purchased the farm in Oxford, NY and again . . . moved all our children, cows and dogs. Farming and breeding quality Labrador Retrievers are what we love to do. We feel blessed to be able to do both!
Our philosophy here at Sweet View is to breed an animal (dog or cow) who is beautiful to look at, a pleasure to work with, and will stand the test of time. These three qualities will set them above the rest! We breed exclusively with Ocean Spray Labradors and plan our matings to produce a true English style “blocky” Labrador Retriever. Health and temperament are key components in all our matings.
Sweet View puppies are sold with a limited registration. Limited registered dogs cannot compete in AKC Conformation Classes or have their offspring registered. They are however eligible to participate in all AKC Performance events.
We frequently travel to and from Massachusetts, so we offer the option of picking up a puppy in Massachusetts at 8 weeks of age. Arrangements will be made after approval and a deposit have been confirmed. Give us a call to inquire on availability of one of our puppies or to learn more on our breeding program.
